Southern Village: An Overview

Although located just two miles from down town Chapel Hill, Southern Village has a small-town lifestyle all its own. This unique neighborhood continues to be one of the Triangle’s top-selling neighborhoods, and it’s no wonder.

Following the concepts of New Urbanism, Southern Village is designed for people, not cars. Sidewalks along tree-lined streets create inviting “public rooms” for walking and socializing. Neighbors regularly get together on their front porches, while kids play in the front yards. Pot-luck dinners, bike parades, block parties, Halloween in Arlen Park and outdoor movies on the Village Green are just some of the activities neighbors enjoy together.

The video below gives a nice insight into just what this beautiful community has to offer.

Most homes are just a short walk from the elementary school, church, shops, restaurants, theater, offices, greenways and bike paths.

If you are looking for a neighborhood with a strong sense of community, a grocery store on the corner, and plenty of room to roam, Southern Village is your answer.
