Southern Village Raquet & Swim Club
Joining Southern Village Racquet & Swim Club gives you access to a great pool and tennis facility, plus much more. You'll soon discover that this community center helps you become part of a network of neighbors and friends.Nestled in the quaint neighborhood of Southern Village is one of Chapel Hill’s most popular swim and tennis clubs. This family-oriented, year-round facility is a hub of activity every season with six lighted tennis courts, an Olympic-sized outdoor pool, and an assortment of recreational programs for all ages.
Memberships to Southern Village Club are open to everyone; you don’t have to reside in the neighborhood. In fact, that’s the beauty of this unique club.
You'll soon discover that it’s much like a community center where you become part of a network of neighbors and friends from many areas of town, all who share a desire to be active!
For the enjoyment of all the neighbors of Southern Village, including those who are not members of the club, there are also ball fields and basketball court adjacent to the SV Club.
Join one of the youth or adult tennis clinics, USTA leagues, or ladders which are offered year-round. Learn to improve your strategy or strokes with private lessons from the Club tennis pros. Many of the area’s top high school players develop their competitive game through the Club’s excellent tennis program and tournaments.
Summer is an exciting time at the Southern Village Club pool which is open from early May through late September. The Stingray Swim Team is top notch and one of the largest teams competing in the Chapel Hill Swim League. The Club builds homegrown swimmers as early as age four, and eagerly welcomes new and experienced swimmers who move here from other towns. The Club also hosts soccer and traditional camps each summer.
Southern Village Club is located at 601 Brookgreen Drive at the corner of Highgrove Drive. If yoga, pilates, kettlebells, dance or martial arts are more your style, there are classes offered regularly in the spacious upstairs Clubhouse which can also be rented for private events such as graduations or birthday parties. Clubhouse rentals and fitness classes, as well as the adjoining ball fields and basketball court, are offered for the enjoyment of all the neighbors of Southern Village, including those who are not members of the Club.
